How long is your Bethesda to Baltimore commute?

| I live in Bethesda and am considering a job in Baltimore. Does anyone do this commute - which route to you take, at what time do you leave home, and how long does it take you by car? (morning/outbound and end-of-day/return commute times). Any tips? |

| My husband did this for awhile. If everything was running smoothly, it was about an hour during rush hour -- not great, but doable. However, there were many nights he got home late and his commute took 1 1/2 to 2 hours because of accidents or traffic in downtown Baltimore. |
