Indestructible toys?

Anonymous
Our dog LOVES rope toys but she destroys them in a matter of hours. She particularly likes the ones with a ball or some kind of stuffed toy on one end. Any suggestions for toys that are more durable?

The Kong toy that is black is very durable. Also, nylabones for extreme chewers. Just about anything else gets destroyed by our lab mix so we stopped giving her anything else.

I have an answer for both of you! The Mega series of Tuffy toys.

We have the bowmerang, the junior ring, and the tire iron. They're the only toys my chew-crazy puggle hasn't destroyed (aside from Kongs and white nylabones, both of which he had lost interest in).

He did manage to rip one of the Mega Creatures, the octopus, so stick with the basic shapes that don't have as many seams.

I don't blame you if you're skeptical about soft toys; I had written them off too. But please try them.

I wish toys lasted hours with our dog. We have yet to find an indestructable toy. We timed him with a leather and rope toy the other day. It took him 20 minutes to completely chew off the first corner of the leather part of the toy. The $20 rope and rubber toy we got him was torn apart in 15 minutes.

PP here^^^ The Tuffy toys don't work for our pup. They might work for others. He gets through those in about 10 minutes. We've timed him. Like I said above, I wish we could find something that he didn't chew through.

+1 for Kong. It's the only thing our dog hasn't been able to destroy.

Don't exist! I tried all. Tuffy toys lasted the longest, but even these succumb!

Fat Cat toys for dogs are the only toys I bother buying now. They last and the dogs love them. You can find them on Amazon.

Out of curiosity, which shape? I've found that the very basic ones, like the ring or the bone shape, hold up.

I am the poster of the original quotes. I've had the rings and the bones. He is methodical. He starts on a seam and gets it open within 10 minutes and then goes for the stuffing and the squeaker. One time he just chewed through the fabric and I found him with piles of stuffing all around him about 10 minutes after I gave him the toy.

My powerful chewer has been chewing on Invincible Chains for months. She'll go through any other toy in a matter of minutes. Well, with the exception of Kongs.

Another vote for Kong here. My dog destroyed all of his toys except the Kongs and so now that's all we buy.

Our English Bulldog chews through every "indestructible" toy out there. We've pretty much come to the fact that any toys we get her will last 2 weeks max.
