Progesterone cream

Anonymous
Has anyone used an OTC progesterone cream without a doctor's supervision to balance hormones and lengthen/support the luteal phase? If so, what are the side effects if any? How do you use it?

The OTC creams are not the right kind of progesterone. If your progesterone is low, you need progesterone in oil (injection) or vaginal suppositories.

Your doctor can test and prescribe. This is not a DIY kind of thing.

Cream is for menopause I think. You need suppositories, which literally go right to the source.
I wouldn't even bother with your OB. They usually aren't well versed in this type of thing. Mine gave me crinone or something like that, and my infertility doctor gave me a different one that's "much more vagina friendly".
They leak a lot, and are generally pretty messy.
