Best Dog Boarding Place--socialization, food exercise?

Anonymous
I'm in AU Park. We'll be away during Spring Break in April. I need a place to board our 14 month old Jack Russell Terrier for the week. I want to it to be nearby, but it can be in MD or VA as long as it comes with some great references. I would really like it if they had a webcam so we could check in on her from time to time. I'd like there to be a day care situation where she will be with some other dogs during the day if possible too. Any good experiences to share? Can you give names of places?

TIA...

Check out Affectionate Pet in Fairfax, VA. We've had great experiences for many years. They recently moved from Fairfax Station to a larger, nicer facility. The people are great.

Try Country Club Kennels & Training in Catlett, VA. It is in the middle of nowhere, but worth it. They provide a lot of playtime with other dogs (provided they play well with others) and do not charge extra for it, which many other places do. Our dogs were no worse for wear and we will board them there again this year. I am super picky with my dogs and looked at five kennels before choosing this one. Good luck. It is not glamorous like some around here, but I good a much better feeling about this place and based a lot of my peace of mind on how my dogs behaved when we picked them up. I did not look at Affectionate Pet in Fairfax suggested by previous post.

We like dogma on Capitol Hill for our cavalier. We travel all the way there from Bethesda because our dog likes it so much.

I like Little Rascals on GA and Missouri Aves in DC.

I've used A Dog's Day Out in Vienna and my dog seemed to love it.

We like Wagtime.

It depends on your dog though. My dog loves being with other dogs the whole time. Other dogs prefer a break in a crate once in a while.

We're going to be trying this place for the first time this week. Highly recommended by our vet. They will pick up and return to our house. Will report back on how it went!

We love Sniffers Doggie Depot in Rocville -- and so do our dogs. They have a web cam. They have a staff member in the room with the dogs at all times.
