Gift for a direct report who is having kids?

Would like to do something nice, but am at a loss what to get someone who (a) works for you (don't want to overstep any boundaries) and (b) already has kids?

I basically gave her extra time off - "off the books" - which I figured was the best gift I could hand her, but might be nice to send a card, and get something as well.

Ideas?

The time off has got to be the best gift. If there is an older kid, maybe a small gift for that child to keep them busy (coloring books and markers, mad libs, etc). If not, a nice card would be plenty. If you want to give something, the Sophie teether could be good. Hard to say without knowing what you want to spend.
