which Outer Banks beach is best for dogs

I am planning a trip to the outer banks this summer and want to take my 2 dogs.
I would prefer to be close to one of the towns but also want to walk my dogs on the beach in the mornings unleashed.
Any suggestions?

Do they really allow dogs on OBX beaches?

There was a prior post about the high number of sand fleas, particularly at OBX, and why people would prefer to leave their dogs at home.

This is the OP, I did some research online and it seems Duck is very dog friendly. They are allowed on the beach unleased off season and in the morning and evenings.
Didnt see anything about sand fleas
