Awww, good to see this thread back as we get ready to ring out 2016. Who's taking their toddler to 10PM NYE dinner this year?

That does not include a steakhouse at 10pm. If you want to keep your child up till midnight that's your business, but don't make it everyone else's too. I wouldn't be surprised if the restaurant takes one look at your toddler and tells you they lost your reservation. You've responded to the other PPs saying this is your tradition and your family sitter fell through - well, time to get a new tradition.

This is OP. You are VERY insensitive. My child is actually pretty well behaved when we go out to restaurants, which is frequently. To say that the restaurant would turn us away once they saw our child is beyond cruel. i was looking more for tips on how to handle the situation because it is what it is - meaning, we have no choice at this point but to bring her. Anyhow,I hope your new years resolution for 2013 is to get a new personality.

You do have another choice, OP. I can see it's not when you're willing to make though. You're putting your wants in front of what your child needs. No three-year-old should purposely be up at 10 PM. So what I'm saying is that you do not sound like a responsible parent but and immature individual who wants what they want no matter what.

This post is several years old and a running joke on DCUM.

Well, now the kid is 6 years old, and I'm sure he's a complete darling

Thread is from 2012-2013. We are now 2016-2017.

2016 - 2012 = 4. Therefore this thread is now 4 years old.

3 + 4 = 7. The child is now 7 years old, not 6.

Perhaps instead of worrying about this, you should make your New Year's resolution to improve your basic arithmetic. I'm sure a free online primer targeted at first graders will do. You must be in the DCUM million plus salary club.

Eff you. My almost 3-year old stays up until 2 am. We have tried it all and done all for him. We have been away from him 4 hours the most in 3 years. Yes, the toddler is an immature individual who wants waht he wants no matter what. We haven't done anything without him or been away from him in 3 years. There isn't even a minute going by that I don't see him or ask him what he is up to. We don't have a life really outside of our kid, so going to sleep at 10 pm would show nothing much about my parenting.

I can't hear about / go by a Ruth Chris Steakhouse without thinking of this thread. Thanks for the bump.

Omg me too! When they had ads on TV a few months ago, I would think "where are the three year olds in this ad?"

LOL I was hoping this would be revived by someone taking their toddler to the new MGM grand casino on NYE at 10 PM.
