Then why is Wellesley still ranked so highly?

Wellesley is also playing with fire. I know many Wellesley women as family and friends, and none of them- *none*- are interested in sending their daughters there. I'd expect Wellesley's ability to place students into top-tier jobs and graduate schools to degrade significantly over the next 30 years.

Could you expand more?

I assume because the Wellesley student body is so radicalized. It has changed, and is now for a very particular kind of student. Like Smith.

I very seriously doubt your claim to know many Wellesley women who don’t want their daughters to go there.

I’m a Wellesley alum, and Wellesley alums are very active on Facebook groups, including parenting, and tween/teen parenting groups, and while there are posts about not being able to afford to send their daughters to Wellesley, there isn’t a sentiment about not wanting their daughters to attend Wellesley at all. I know literally dozens of Wellesley alums whose daughters have applied to Wellesley in the last few years. My daughter did (she didn’t get in).

Two questions:

Why is Carleton slipping?

Why so much hype about W&L?

Pomona is much closer to brown than Stanford- almost nothing in common.

You don’t know schools. Brown is the woke Ivy= Wes.
Pomona and Stanford have a ton in common— Californians are laughing at you.

I agree with the other poster, and I'm Californian. The Bay Area tech school has really nothing at all in common with Pomona, unless you just generalize all of California to be the same. Pomona has a liberal arts, care free vibe with a pretty light general education and is the top LAC known for "fun." That is a lot more similar to brown than the campus known for duck syndrome.

CA mom checking in. I live 5 mins from Stanford and my DS is at Pomona. Stanford and Pomona have nothing in common in terms of vibe, culture or who they attract. And Southern CA and Bay area are poles apart culturally anyway. Tell me you know little about CA without saying you know little about CA.

I think it's weird to have the military academies in the LAC rankings. They're just such different animals.
