Selling our house and doing this as we speak. But you can stay and enjoy it-you’re in for a treat! |
Sure, sure. |
Translation: I want continued access to my sweet, sweet stream of American taxpayer dollars and am upset it’s being cut off. |
What access to American taxpayer dollars? What are you talking about? |
You are deluded, the US is a top tax haven, the ultra wealthy have other options if things go south. https://chicagounbound.uchicago.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2179&context=public_law_and_legal_theory |
Time will tell, won’t it? Enjoy the reaping! |
I am a real estate agent and getting houses ready for the spring market. Today I met with a painter, gardener, handyman all of whom are Hispanic, and a Vietnamese floor refinisher whose workers are Hispanic. They are concerned about only one thing: can they work on Saturday and Sunday so that they can make as much money as possible. |
Yeah, we had a neighbor do that when Trump was elected the first time. They sold their house in Arlington for what they thought was top dollar. They came back at the beginning of the Biden administration and stayed with a neighbor while looking for houses. They soon learned they could not buy back into Arlington and moved to Fairfax City. |
I’d say it was worth it. Those 4 years must have aged me 10. Obviously the right answer is to rent - preferably to MAGA for top dollar and with the cheapest, most neglectful property manager you can find. |
The layoffs happened because tech companies over hired and became bloated. Does that sound familiar? Same thing is happening with the federal government. It became too bloated, too much waste and now it’s time to cut it back. |
They picked off low hanging fruit first. Defense is on the list, and since it is the second largest money sink, it will take more time. But it is coming. |
I felt this darkness since 2016. When the Republicans had their convention, the sea of devil red hats and tacky shiny backdrops and Ivanka sexy whispering how my faaaather hires the best people. speakers telling stories about bad things immigrants have done. Making fun of Rosie O'donnell during the debates. Really rubbed me the wrong way. Now here we are. So depressing. |
I feel the opposite. I felt like this country was sinking and I was already looking abroad and considering whether this was really the place for us long term. Now, I’m excited and hopeful for the future. |
Go back to 1990 Bush Immigration Act when they sold out our youth to import millions of cheap desperate h-1Bs. That wasn’t enough so they created OPT to replace US entry level workers. The dark soulless happened 35 years ago. You just didn’t care. Like the admin on this forum, you think billionaires should be able to replace US citizens with cheap foreign labor. |
