He has already violated it today. |
Speaker Gym Jordan next? |
Given that two days earlier, McCarthy publicly tried to blame ALL democrats for the prospective shut down should tell you why the democrats do not trust McCarthy. He could have said nothing and likely gotten enough Dem votes to retain him. |
Sadly for the country, the GOP will not simply take the bi-partisan Senate bill and pass it in the House to keep our government functional for the next year. They will force a shutdown and receive all of the same ridicule, but it will happen closer to the holidays when air traffic controllers have more leverage for a sick-out in protest. Our borders will actually be open because DHS won't be there to watch over it. Our troops will be working without pay, the military support staff will be furloughed etc. |
Or when the non-cheating spouse if blamed for breaking up the family by not accepting the cheating. |
EXACTLY! |
I’m surprised Nancy Mace was one of the 8. |
And yet there’s nothing a Republican speaker can do to “really scare” anyone. They can pass a bill that never becomes a law… They can (theoretically impeach a President who will never be removed (that always assuming the vulnerable Republicans would be willing to do it)… They can close the USG… In other words… they can do everything Kevin McCarthy already did. |
Double-down on self-destructive clown show. I guess the GOP really wants to lose the House. |

Her reason was different than the others, he hadn’t kept promises to her “to help women in this country”, but just as ridiculous. In what world could McCarthy and House Republican be expected to help women? She just likes being contrarian. It gets her picture in the newspaper. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/10/04/republicans-voted-against-mccarthy-oust/ |
She's trying to triangulate to save her seat. Her supposed reason was abortion rights. The voyewa already decided by the time it got to her. It's a page out of Susie Collins' book. |
