| I am from MD and my unemployment benefits will expire next month. 6 months. I am looking for job but no luck. I've been to several interviews but still waiting for a call back. Hopefully, I will find one before it expires. But if in case not, will I be able to request for extension on my unemployment benefits? How do I do that? Please help me. TIA! |

| You should be able to apply for an extension of benefits under the federal EUC program. My husband just converted from regular unemployment in MD to EUC. He did have to call in to apply for EUC and it took a while to get through to a real person. I think he will get another 28 weeks - amount of time depends upon MD's unemployment rate if I understand it correctly. The website mdunemployment.com has some info about qualifying for EUC. |
