Including applying, interviewing, etc.

Two months. I had connections.
the actual process of looking for jobs? 6 months. But for my particular job between applying and starting work - 2 months
Federal government attorney position. I submitted my application in April and my first day of work was in November. There was a long lag between application and first interview (April to July). The time between the first interview, second interview, and offer was just a couple of weeks. Then another long lag for HR to finalize the offer and start date.
Over 4 months from application. Government.

I wasn't looking, an ad popped up on LinkedIn and it was in a city we love and in my field. I applied on a whim, had a phone interview in 24 hours, in person this following week, and an offer the day after. They paid for relo. Within 6 weeks, we'd given notice, out our house up, put a contract on a new house and I started a new job. Looking back I cannot believe we did that. We also have kids.
My H took months to get an offer in our new city. Then his company did a mass layoff, but he had anew job within 5 weeks. The last 4 job offers I have received have come within 24 hours of the last in in person interview. For setting up the initial interview to starting the job, I have averaged 6 weeks. |
a month. i dragged it out.
4-6 weeks?
|
one year of looking
2 months from the date of the first interview to offer. |
I applied for a federal job just to see if I would be considered qualified and ended up getting the job. I applied in September and started the job January.
I interned while I was in grad school and received a job offer before graduation. So, I guess 0 months? I was very lucky.
three months from seeing advertisement to starting at work
Federal government - applied in June, started in November.
3-4 weeks from first email to offer. Then told them they had to wait 6 weeks for me to start.
one year + of looking around and working crappy temp jobs and contract jobs. then, began working here and it took over 2 yrs to get a permanent job here after starting as a contractor
