What should a fat girl wear while biking?

Anonymous
When I wasn't fat, I used to wear regular bike shorts with a long T-shirt and that was fine. The T shirt was fitted enough that it didn't flap in the wind but long enough to cover my butt. I need to get more exercise and want to go back to biking but now that I'm just plain old fat, I'm not sure what to wear. I can still fit into the bike shorts but with my belly, it looks like I've got two butts. What's a fat girl to wear when she wants to bike?

Queen would have loved you and voted for bikini bottoms.

How plus are we talking? if 1x or 2x, there are a lot of choices for cycling tops. The catch is that you'll have to buy them online. The bike shops around here don't carry them, of course, and for some reason REI doesn't either.

The Terry brand makes several versions of dedicated cycling tops that are cute, cover the gut, and don't break the bank. $40 or so.

Bike shorts still for comfort.

OK, the first PP totally gets my thumbs up.

OP, I'll second Terry. They have great quality stuff in a variety of sizes.

...and Terry also carries plus size bike shorts in a variety of styles.

Athletic shorts or athletic long pants ... black. That's what I do and they look fine. I always wear a matching black top. Don't wear some gross tee shirt that would make anyone look fat.

Can I just say that you are awesome for biking again and starting to get back in shape? Good for you!

Wear a helmet and wear something comfortable with a chamois pad. Make sure you bike fits your body properly. Biking clothes should be about comfort and function. And more important your bike must be fitted correctly to avoid injury and keep you in the saddle longer. Have fun and ride safe!!

PS - Your weight has nothing to do with what cycling clothes you should choose

If you are the same PP that just posted about being fat on the beauty forum, then you're not that big and nobody cares what you are wearing while you are cycling anyway. You're going to be going by them pretty quickly, right? Just wear what's comfortable to you. Again, nobody is going to look at you or judge you, it's not a fashion show, it's exercise.

OP, I really wish you'd stop calling yourself fat. If you run yourself down like that then how do you expect others will treat you?
