| I've been using camelbaks but they invariably leak all over my bag, my purse, the front seat of my car, etc... Any other ideas? Ones that don't taste like metal or plastic, if possible. |
| I am a big fan of the good old fashioned Nalgene 32 oz wide mouth bottle. The lid stays on tight, the wide mouth means I can get a lot of water out of it quickly, and carrying it around means I drink more water. I don't think it tastes particularly plasticy, but I've been using them for so long I probably don't know any differently. |

Not sure if you will like this suggestion - but I love my camelback with modifications.
Get a regular, adult Camelback and throw away the lid. Keep the straw. Buy a replacement pack of kid's tops with the silicone valve pieces (amazon). Or steal one from your kid's sippy, that is what I did. The kid's lids and valves fit perfectly on the adult bottles and are much less prone to leaking. Also, they are easier to clean. The valve part that is hard plastic on the adult one (the silicone piece kind of snaps over it) - I was always dropping my bottle and breaking it, leading to leaks and annoyance. The kids one is much, much more durable from that POV (I think it was designed to be SAFER for kids, but IMO it's really a better design). |
