Running -- list of 2013 races

Anonymous
I'm trying to stay motivated in 2013 by signing up for a couple races (5K and maybe 10K). I have small children so I am very limited on when and where I can race. I saw Pacers' list for 2013 and signed up for 1 of their races. I've Googled and searched Cool Running but I'm not finding too much. Does anyone have a list of local races for 2013 or a good website? TIA.

My all-time favorite race in the entire United States is the Army Ten-Miler. I've run it many, many times and it's always a blast! Race date is October 13, 2013.

I like Pacers races but they do tend to be larger than many other area races (which can also be a good thing).

+1 to runwashington.com

I hate the Army Ten Miler and Cherry Blossom -- FAR too crowded, and the ATM is one of the worst managed races I've ever participated in.

If you like trail running, EX2 has the Backyard Burn series in both Spring and Fall. Five and 10 mile courses in different parks in NoVa. I've done two of the 10 milers and they're a total blast. Much harder than road races but also more fun in their way.

And runwashington.com is a terrific resource--my go to!

OP here...thanks for the sites! I'd like to get into some trail running in the future so I'll check out ex2adventure too.

Choose races.

There are also training programs and running groups.

If you get on the email list for PR Running stores you will also get notices of races. The active list is, I think, only the races that use active for their registrations.
