What is this?

Apologies in advance for the graphic details....

If it were to happen this cycle I would be within my implantation window. My period is due to start in 3-4 days. This morning I woke up to some very light dark brown spotting. Several hours later after peeing I noticed a largish dark brown clot. What the hell is that?

I'm overanxious about everything right now....I'm 35 and this is our sixth cycle trying, so if you've seen this and can offer any info or advice it would be appreciated.

Just my opinion but it's possible it could be implantation bleeding. However, that's my non-medical opinion. It's also possible of course it could be an early miscarriage which resembles a period.

PP, early miscarriage is my fear. Good God. I hate getting older. It just snuck up on me.

Yes, I thought of that, but did it continue? Or was it just a brief "stain the panties" moment? If it continued like a period, then I would think miscarriage. If it was just a brief stain or two, then implantation.

Do a test and post again.

I agree with pps; either implantation bleeding or early miscarriage. Wishing you the best!

I have had several early miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy. I am not a medical professional but it seems to early for even an early miscarriage. Mine happened at five weeks. After a missed period. My vote is implantation bleeding Good luck!

I agree that it's too early for an early miscarriage. I often had this and I learned that I had a short luteal phase. This can be determined very easily by blood tests. In the first month of supplementing with progesterone I conceived. Don't stress yourself out too much about it. Take charge and find out what's going on and you will conceive. You will.

Thank you. I did end up having my period, and I think it was just early spotting, which seems to happen more and more now and for more days prior to the start of an actual flow.

Did you have this blood test at your OB? After 5 failed attempts with every tracking method/ovulation detection method known to mankind except a fertility monitor is it too early for me to call and ask about these tests? I don't want to seem crazy, but I am nearing 36, my first is almost 4 now, and I just don't want to wait any longer. My other concern is that my periods are very light and short, and my cycle seems to be getting shorter - i.e. it used to average 28 days, now it averages 26.

My cycle too was getting shorter and shorter with a very short luteal phase. I started taking an herbal supplement called vitex and also vitamin B6 and it has helped.

Helped in the sense that you got pregnant?

You can keep trying for a few months or go see an RE soon. At 35, your insurance may require trying for longer before paying for diagnostic testing by an RE.

It has helped in the sense that it extended my cycle. I'm in the 2 week wait to see if it helped me conceive.
