way to close out threads?

Anonymous
Is it worth it to have a way to lock out threads where a question has been answered - just thinking it might help de-clutter the space - i asked a question about carseats in gen parenting this am, then got a couple of responses, posted a second question, got a response, and then made a decision and bought a seat - do you think its worth it to be able to close the thread/lock the thread so that it drops out/down?

If it's not of interest/use to anyone, it'll do that on its own. If other people do fimd it useful, it should stay active.

Others may find it useful even if you are done with the topic.

As the others have said, another user may have the same or similar question and want to join the discussion. It's better than having several threads on the same topic.

But what about when someone brings up a thread that's 2-3 years old and people don't look at the dates and start responding like it's new?

I periodically lock any thread that hasn't been active for 2 years or more in order to prevent this from happening.
