My fitness pal is awesome and eye opening

I know I am late on the trend, have been hearing out it for awhile BUT I love it. Started using it Jan 1st (very cliche I know) and I find it sooooo eye opening. I'm not trying to loose weight but I'm trying to watch my sugar and fat intake and I really am shocked how much more I consume than I thought! It's also been a good reminder to measure things and show myself what a portion really looks like.

I just started using it Monday and it's amazing. I've been pretty good about sticking to the calories I'm alloted. If I've gone over it's been by less than 50 calories. I don't know if I've lost anything yet because I'm only going to do weekly weigh ins. Last time I tried to get healthy, I used WiiFit. It was so discouraging having to weigh in every day and see that not only hadn't I lost, I'd gained a pound.

I agree. It is a wonderful ap and so easy to use. I use it to count calories but also track protein intake and fat, protein and carb ratios.

I love the forums on MFP. It is similar to DCUM in the snark vs. helpful vs. know-it-all posters, which to me makes it more honest and real than other dieting/fitness forums.

I am also not trying to lose weight per say, but I am tracking. I eat way too much-- albeit healthy things. It's tough to stick to 1,500 calories though!!

I just started this week too! It'll be interesting to see how it goes on the weekend, when I typically fall apart, but entering everything I eat has definately made me more selective in what I put into my mouth.

I'm definately going to check out MFP boards - maybe i'll get useful tips, versus just the gosip, random stuff I get from DCUM
