How would you pronounce that?
It is an ethnic name but wondering how it sound/looks to other ears. |
Do you pronounce it like Tara? I'd think you were trying to be cutesy with "Tara." |
i thought it has a typo--one too many 'a's. Looks strange. I'd pronounce it Tara, like the Gone with the Wind house. |
Does it mean "star"? |
I'd look at it and think you misspelled Tara or Tamara or Tiara, all of which I've seen as girls' names.
Never seen or heard pronounced Taara. What ethnicity and how is it pronounced? |
It's better than Maddyn. Unless there's an obvious ethnic last name that goes along with it, I'd just do Tara. |
Tar-ruh instead of Tear-ruh ? |
Please don't do it. If you are planning to raise her in the US, you will subject this child to a lifetime of having her name misspelled. |
Lord no. I heard strains of Gone With the Wind in my head |
Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. |
It's a slight improvement on Maddyn, but why have double letters? Just call her Tara. |
If the last name will be ethnic as well, then I see nothing wrong with it. However, Taara Smith would just look like you're misspelling Tara and trying too hard. |
I actually like Taara because it promotes the "ah" sound - so you will be sure to get T-ah-ra instead of Tare-a.
My guess is that you're Indian? |
I'm guessing Indian too, but even most Indians would spell it Tara when transliterated from the original. |
I personally would add the "th" to get to the pronunciation you want. I don't think it's a hard T sound, if you are thinking about the Indian name. I would also keep in the 2 As; people will have an easier time remembering it's not pronounced 'tarah'. |
