The Golden Bachelor

Debbie’s taking him to her brother’s house? She probably lives in a small apartment. I do t remember what Peg said.

According to Mel's statements to the court, he only earns $1000 per month! So, he's the one looking for a sugar momma.

I don't see how the Gden Bachelor series continues after this. They will probably give Debbie a season as Golden Bachelorette, but then it's done. The women don't have enough drama this season to make it interesting. Mel sure as hell isn't interesting. They aren't traveling to interesting locations. It IS very formulaic and boring.

The casting has doomed Golden Bachelor. 😞

And Cindy will break up with him when she sees how he handled his divorce. She's the most similar to Mel's ex...no surprise.

I have more of an interest in seeing how mature adults find love late in life than some version of Survivor drama. Those deep conversations are more real than the wacky moments you seem to miss.

He paid 800k for a house now worth over 2 million and has 650k in investment accounts. He’s more than comfortable .

Completely agree. And with all the single older people in this country it’s a shame! The casting this season is terrible. Mel is a bore; Gerry was at least a nice enough guy and had a fun personality. The women this season are not interesting in the least. It also seems a lot faker this season, for some reason. Like they are all in it for their 15 minutes.

He has a court order to pay his exwife almost $1mil. So, he has basically $1.5 mil total -- and he'll have to find a place to live after paying his ex wife what she is rightfully owed. Of course, he's getting a payout from ABC -- so maybe he'll have $2mil total assests after he gets his paycheck from ABC and he pays his ex. That's not a lot of money in CA for retirement when you have to buy another house or condo. $2mil is plenty in Indiana with a house by the lake.

That's a you problem. For most normal people, with a reasonable lifestyle, that would be sufficient

650 is not enough to retire when you have a 2 million dollar house lifestyle.

His ex wants him to sell the house, which I bet he doesn’t want to do. Hence the decision to do GB.

Haven't heard anyone mention how smug and disrespectful Nicholle was at the end telling Mel "when the one you pick doens't work out, and it won't, you call me. No, I'm serious. Call me."

The way she said it with such a Cheshire Cat grin saying that it won't work out... really a mean girl thing. She wanted to be on the show to jump start an influencer career. What she failed to understand is that in order to get followers from people who watch Golden Bach (i.e. mostly women. mostly middle and older aged women), you have to be LIKABLE! She is definitely not likable.

I think she also said she’s available to be the next Golden Bachelorette!

Not sure why I ended up watching the entire episode after ditching the show weeks ago, but I guess I was too lazy to change the channel after Abbott Elementary ended. It’s a snoozer for sure!

Did his suit look awful to anyone else at the last rose ceremony? Was it just ill-fitting?

That poor Debbie.

Sorrow seems to follow her.

I hope she is okay.

+1 it’s a lot to carry. She seems so lonely, poor thing. Maybe the exposure will give her fitness business a boost, like it did with Leslie.
