prep for boarding dog

Anonymous
I will be boarding my dog for the first time in a few weeks. I am nervous he is going to come home with fleas or some kind of infection. I am using a nice, well-recommended boarding place, but I imagine this is a bit like being in school (where you can't really prevent your kid from picking up a cold, lice, etc.) and that it is inevitable that illnesses get passed from dog to dog. I will be getting him the bordatella vaccine next week, and we use frontline and revolution every month, but does anyone have any other preventative tips for keeping our dog healthy when being boarded? Such as, a shampoo we should bathe him with before and/or after boarding that repels fleas? Thanks in advance.

We board our dog periodically and we have never had any problems. She is up to date on all her vaccines and we use Frontline. Our kennel bathes her before we pick her up and we have never had any issues with fleas.
