family friendly restaurant near Kennedy Center?

My family (including grandparents) is going to the Kennedy Center for a Saturday afternoon show. We would like to go out to eat afterward. Any restaurant suggestions for a family ages 7 - 70? No food restrictions. Thanks.

There's not that much RIGHT near the Kennedy Center. It's kind of an island unto itself. District Commons is pretty close and it should please everyone:

The rooftop place in the Kennedy Center isn't bad. It's not high ambiance--it's cafeteria-style. But the food is good and they know how to handle a high-volume crowd. I've taken the family there and have seen lots of other happy families. Not the same as sit-down service, but if managing the family logistics is a priority it's a useful option. You don't have to move everyone, or change parking, between show and meal.

There's also a higher-end restaurant on that level that is only open for special events, and is muy pricey. Not so much a family place.

+1. Cozy place that we always go to before Kennedy Center shows. Good Italian, and we've taken the kids and elderly parents and everyone is happy.

Also, you can valet park the the car there and walk for 10.00 (cheaper than parking at KC). But everyone must be able to talk a few blocks.

I was also going to suggest the rooftop buffet cafeteria. The kids enjoyed it and the views were great.
