Anybody done it or know anyone who has? It's our first Christmas here and I don't cook! Mom is coming down to spend time with DH, me and our toddler. Thought it might be nice way to dress up the day a little and treat her out to a fancy meal. Just seeing if anyone has any experience in this or maybe a better suggestion?
They used to have a beautiful buffet brunch and then they stopped, but if they are doing it for the holidays I expect it would be nice (and the Willard has a bit of DC history, more than, say, the Fairmont which also has a nice, if occasional, buffet brunch).
I did it last Christmas and was quite impressed. In fact we will be doing it again this year and can't wait...could be our new tradition! The decorations, food and service are all up to the Willard's standard - which is stellar. You won't be disappointed if that's what you're looking for.
Did Easter brunch there, and it was fabulous so I would definitely try the Christmas one
Is it really the type of place you would bring a toddler?
we brought our DS when he was 2 a few years back. I think there is a kids room off to the side? Or at least there was? I don't think you can just let a toddler run around unsupervised in there, but it is fairly kid friendly. Amazing food! |
This is OP. we went to the brunch and it was fabulous and a great gift for my mom. Food was delicious, atmosphere was beautiful and festive. Santa was there along with great music and it was very kid friendly, lots of families and folks dressed up. Just wanted to add in an update in case anyone considers this for the future or Easter. Expensive but very special and fun
Hi OP, just wandering if you went to the Cafe de Parc or Occidental at Willards? I have a similar situation for NYE.
