Girls DA 2018-19 Season

And we are with Spirit. I guess I thought that was obvious in how I phrased it.

It remains to be seen if Arlington will be granted DA teams in the older age groups next year or ever.

If they don't will their U15 DA girls team all stay in Arlington? They could play EDP for a year and hope they get a U16/17 DA team the next year?

If FCV believed or wanted your player to participate they would have reached out to you.

And apparently they did to a couple of Spirit players who are now on their roster and who knows how many more who opted to stay with Spirit.

There will not be a DA group added above the age of 04 at Arlington. The 04 age group at Arlington will maintain their DA status. Does that make sense?

Did FCV ever reach out to your DD or you though?

Not really. That would imply that Arlington will have a U16/17 DA Team next year? In which case Arlington 03 will also have "DA status" next year?

Then would they have to give them a U18/19 team the next year (in which case the 02s would also have DA status)?

It is not a requirement that 03s are on the team.

No, they would be U16/17s again. Also, with the Piloted U16 age group out West there is a strong chance our Division at least would have a U16 pilot next year if US Soccer doesn't just add the age group across the DA anyway.

Different poster: so with all these posts, does that mean FCV is an invitation only club? Every other club I know of - boys and girls - has ID sessions, sometimes players reach out to the club, and then things move forward from there.

Are you saying that FCV only gains players from direct recruitment?

Well direct recruitment would violate DA poaching rules now wouldn't it.

I don't know all those particulars. Someone said if FCV wanted a player, they would contact them. If they haven't been contacted, they don't want them. How else do you define a recruitment only process?

Or is that poster incorrect?

And I'm not trying to be tricky. What is the FCV process?

The FCV process, like any club is to add stronger players. If you are a player who is stronger than what they have otherwise and look to be a potential fit they may find a way to let you know. If you reach out to FCV and they remember your DD from a game or two they will be courteous and invite you to training and let you know how your DD would fit in or not. If your kid is not on their radar and you reach out to them then you will hear crickets.

For what it is worth, their current U16/17 roster is at 23 kids and their U18/19 roster is at 21. Not a lot of wiggle room there as there are still the 03 DPs who are obviously not listed on the roster. Their 04 roster is holding at 18 but depending on the status of the combined age group next year that roster will balloon up like the current U16/17 roster is as some of those 03 DPs find their way back on the roster as well and they DP the younger 04s for a year.

That makes a little more sense and more in line with what I expected. The posts about "has your DD been contacted", then FCV doesn't want you made less sense.

We aren't looking at FCV, but I read those and found that whole train of thought odd.
