Google says that Bucknell's discount rate is 35%, and Trinity's is 44 to 56%.

That's need-based aid. We're talking about whether they give merit aid to full-pay families. They don't, much.

According to Google, those numbers combine need-based AND merit aid.

According to their latest reported Common Data Sets, both Bucknell and Trinity give approximately $20k on average to roughly 20% of non-need kids. 20% of non-need kids is only about 10% of the total student population. And $20k off of a $90k Cost of Attendance isn't much.

Low tier NECSACs like Trinity and Conn College need to buy as many students as they can. I hate to say it but high achieving students do not go there. Look at each schools' CDS and their SAT submission rate and SAT percentiles.

Schools like this will never go back to test-required because to do so would simply be embarrassing.
