These aren’t magnets; they are either interest bass or merit based programs with limited availability for students within each region.

She is generally on the right path, but the vocal fry, the pauses, and the meandering way of speaking makes her sound far less intelligent than I suspect she actually is.

(this is re her comments during the facilities portion of the meeting)

I agree. Laura Stewart presents and speaks HORRIBLY for being an elected official. I cannot understand how she was elected given how AWKWARD she is in her public speaking.

Easy because Moms 4 Liberty candidates suck that ran against her

I don't care if someone is a good public speaker or not, I care about the actions they take as a BOE member. Not everyone is a great public speaker. Its the least of the concerns.

+1. There are much bigger things to worry about.

You should care about public speaking skills in an elected official. Communication is more than half of the role.

Po-tay-to/po-tah-to.

"Magnet programs, some criteria-based and some interest-based, each drawing from a defined region and placed within a base school that also serves local-catchment, non-program students."

The public speaking skills are important, but they can be learned. They'll all likely improve in that area as they get more experience. As far as ideas and intent, I think Stewart is typically on the right path. And she, and others who were elected, cared enough to run for office.

That is the wrong thing to focus on. How she votes, what she supports and doesn't support and her bettering MCPS are far more important.
