We all know organ donation is “a thing”. The question is simple: should it be legal for a person to SELL an organ? What if a person just wanted to rent out their kidney for 9 months and then have it returned? That seems comparable to renting out a womb, right? |
Is paying someone for their time and labor exploitive? |
This dumb point is always trotted out and is categorically false. |
Dp, sure why not? If someone is healthy and getting compensation for the time taken away from surgical removal and healing, and another person also benefits, why not? How does it somehow become 'evil' if the person doing the giving gets compensated? |
You are such a nice, concerned, compassionate human. |
The topic of this thread is surrogacy. If you want to talk about the ethics of organ donation, start a separate thread. It has nothing to do with surrogacy. Women have been carrying children for other women for millennia. |
Are they also against IVF? |
Not at all. In fact, Italian government pays for 5 rounds. But that’s not something these rabbid posters want to hear about. |
You think women have been implanted with other women’s embryos for millennia? You are a fool. |
off topic but people from the caucasus regions historically were not considered in the 'white' racial category in america, or they were white the way that Arabs are b/c they were part of the ottoman empire and non of those peopel were white, they were less white than Italian, greeks, jews. |
no this person is recognizing that women's own children were taken from them and given to wealthy women to raise. This person thinks this was just peachy, she also thinks that having a 'mammy' was wonderful, and that droit du seigneir were done for for a long time and so was great b/c the seigneur was clean and smelt better than the peasent groom. Jeez, many times i think religion is unnecessary in this world but then unethicla people who are ok with bodiy organs being for sale pop up and i think wow you need Jesus! |
+1 Going for the Breeder's Cup. |
Because sperm + sperm = a good time, not a baby. |
😳 You know, as someone who thinks surrogacy is exploitative and cruel, sometimes I think I should just let the pro-surrogacy people make my arguments for me. They do a better job at revealing the grotesque entitlement of pro-surrogacy people than I could ever do, just by being themselves. Wealthy women have been exploiting poor women for millennia, yes. If that is your argument as to why surrogacy is good, you’ve lost. |
Geez, do you also consider it “exploitative” to pay a lower income person to scrub your toilets for you? |
