I can't get creative in the kitchen, but my husband LOVES it when I cook this Pioneer Woman recipe. We call it "steak with sin sauce". Do you have can't-miss recipes that you've found or developed? I need to expand my horizons:

| Mine loves regular old fashioned hamburger steak and gravy with rice. He also loves French toast, not because mine is particularly special, but because I HATE cooking breakast, so French toast is a rare thing around here. He also loves spaghetti and chili. |
| Mine loves chicken with ajwain seeds (an Indian spice), a dish I adapted from an Indian cookbook. I like it ok, but he is crazy for it. |
| Spanish rice, per my mother's recipe. Bacon (with ALL the grease), ground beef, onions, tomatoes. I find it too heavy and oily, but man he loves that stuff. |

Beef stew, baby!
the real deal, with seared chunks of beef, all the vegetables, beef stock...I make it with mashed potatoes...he can't wait for the weather to get cooler! And bonus, two of my three DCs like it too! (the other is a self proclaimed vegan but that's another story...) |
Jesus mother of God. That looks amazing, but how do you avoid a heart attack shortly after consumption? |
I have no idea what this is. Not regular old to me. |
Ground beef, seasoned with salt, pepper, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce. Season into hamburger patties. Coat in flour. Brown in a pan. Take out, make gravy from the pan drippings by adding a little more flour and some beef stock. Put the hamburger patties back in to finish cooking. Server over rice. Hamburger steak. |
You only cook it twice a year (his birthday and our anniversary). Hence why I need some more dishes! |

Sunny Anderson's take on general Tsao's chicken. She calls it Airman Anderson's chicken and stormy rice. I only make rice that way now. Although, I use jasmine instead of plain white. The chicken takes time but it's worth it. I add a cornstarch slurie to thicken the sauce. It's really spicy so tweak that if you are sensitive.

That looks delicious, but what's up with the cutsey commentary? She's ridiculous. |
That looks good, and like something different to make. Do yo think it would work with chicken breasts? |
We tried this last night - delish! Not the healthiest meal, but it was nice to make something different than anything else we usually cook. I didn't deep fry the chicken but I did pan fry it - I might just bake it next time to make it a little healthier. Also, we used brown rice and it worked just fine - so good! |
That's the Pioneer Woman's schtick. All of her blog entries are like that. |
| Pulled Pork tacos from Real Simple. I modify the recipe a bit to our tastes. |
