did those teams play each other? I would be interested to know how they did. IMHO November tournaments don't tell a lot, but they do tell you more than early fall leagues like VEL.

How are they playing on a Sunday during the VHSL dead period?

Same way every team played in VEL/Madlax every Sunday for the last two months. Not on fcps school grounds playing playing in a club run tournament.

Dreadful. They might finish behind Wakefield and Marshall at bottom of Liberty.

According the the schedule, Yorktown and McLean played each other. Sounds like it did not go well for McLean. Langley played Episcopal and Gonzaga (guessing not varsity starters).

I am a Langley parent, and I watched all th Langley games and McLean vs Yorktown, McLean looked awful, lost to Yorktown 13-3. Yorktown looked decent, but I don’t think they are anywhere close to Langley right now. Langley dominated episcopal, and I know episcopal had all their starters playing the whole game, Langley was just a better team. Gonzaga had most of their good players if not all, I couldn’t tell, but Langley held their own and were winning 4-2 at halftime, and then Gonzaga pulled away in the second half and won by around 2.

I don't understand the problem that this rule is meant to solve - why are chain gang volunteers not supposed to communicate with others during a game - merely to avoid being distracted, or does it give them an advantage somehow?

They were listening in to the other teams calls and relaying them back to their team's sidelines.

Great job for out of season by Langley.
How is it that you know the starters on Episcopal and the other side of the Beltway, though? And most of Gonzaga's guys? That would be really difficult to track, seniors graduated, new players coming up and earning time, games in the spring often on the same day as Langley.

because I know

The problem with assessing Langley offseason, is not the talent or how they play.

Its the age old question of: how do you measure heart? When, not if, are they gonna choke away the playoffs?
