+1. Another longtime SoCal resident confirming. |
NP I don't think it's odd at all. When a natural disaster hits my area or is impending and there's nothing left to do but wait and see, not much to do but worry and be online. |
| Adam Brody and Leighton Meester lost their home. I guess I don't worry too much about wealthy celebrities who can always rebuild or buy elsewhere, but it must be a little traumatizing to lose your home. Hope people are being evacuated safely, and the regular folks will be able to recover from the massive financial hit. |
You could be preparing to evacuate, figuring out where you're going, checking road conditions. A helpful list of what to pack was posted previously. Being on here would be a low priority. My friends lost their homes and are figuring out longer term accommodations. If you're that close you seriously have bigger problems to consider. |
It's true that insurers have been dropping people, but there is a plan called FAIR that you can get when everyone else has dropped you. My dad got it for his house in Northern CA when Farmers dropped him. It's not cheap but these celebrities probably chose to self insure instead. |
Maui was a force of nature to, huh? |
| How much did Mayor Karen Bass cut from fire fund? |
You care nothing about the people losing their homes and who are in frightening situations. Your post is purely to knock Trump and I am not even a Trump supporter. |
It was but you were smoking pot in the courtyard with the goths. |
But why would you want to be online on a regional forum thousands of miles away where most residents are unfamiliar with your plight? |
Who are they? |
Throw in Prop 13 with its limits on property tax increases --- |
Crawl out from under your rock |
Can do nothing but wish you the best and hope that your house escapes the fire. |
