There is a point to those outings and sponsorships. That point is, when the BRF shows it cares, that brings in more donations and volunteers to the charities they support. That's still a very real impact. Also, as the Queen said, if you're not out in the public eye, you don't exist in the public eye.
Charles gets it. But if William can't be bothered to do even that, then you're right, what really is the point of the BRF? (And no, Kate doesn't want him glued to her bedside 24/7, while their kids are at school and staff handle the housework, so miss me with the patronizing drivel about him needing to be there for her 28 out of 30 days in the month.) Will Britain really see a point in a king that lives in luxurious isolation and does maybe 2-6 engagements a month, like William's been doing for the past year, even before Kate's illness?
