Guys. I watched it a second time. I'm too embarrassed to admit that to anyone I actually know.

Shayne actually reminds me more of Cole. They even have the same kind of career, both have whatever the male equivalent of vocal fry is, and both theoretically into Christianity. Only difference is Shayne is dumber but a better person.

Shayne does remind me more of Cole than Bartise, but I don't think Shayne or Cole are bad guys, really. Cole is very invested in Zanab, he was very upset when he discovered his family wouldn't support his marriage. He was open and honest with Z's stepmother. His only mistake (which was admittedly bad) was rating Colleen a 10/10. He also tried to make that right by talking to Matt. Not great, but definitely made worse by Zanab harping on him and *asking* Cole to rate her, then being passive aggressive when he responds.

Everyone seems to love SK, but I question his motives. Why is he so agreeable and in to Raven? She is distant, criticizes his energy, is not thrilled by his food choices and some other cultural differences, has expressed her desire for him to pay half of her rent, and he still "loves" her and wants to spend his life with her? What have they connected about? At some point he says a woman with an education is important to him, but that doesn't seem to be part of Raven's identity, and she doesn't seem to value his education much. I suspect he is in this for the game, or at the very least thinks she's hot so goes along with it. Not sure what he's so in love with ...

I am not feeling SK either. I feel like he has no personality/spark and is way too deferential to Raven. His mom seems very nice but I admittedly can't get over the fact that his grandfather practiced polygamy. I think everyone loves him because they are comparing him to all of the other guys who are mostly immature train wrecks.

Totally agree. SK isn’t bringing much to the table except that he’s not a hot mess. Going on a show right before you’re going to move away for school is messed up.

I think there must be a long game in it for him. He’s smart, not crazy, and would have options when it comes to dating. It doesn’t make any sense why he would be into Raven unless 1. he has very low self esteem (this doesn’t seem to be likely) or 2. He’s in it for the clout and making some $$ off the franchise. I guess we will see if he ends up saying “yes” at the altar but I’m thinking he must just mostly be in it for some dlist fame, a little cash, and dms full of interested women when the show ends and he’s single.

To be fair, he was upfront about going to school in the pods. He shouldn’t have gotten chosen in the first place except for the fact that Raven is only interested in exploiting him for his money so this wasn’t a dealbreaker for her. I don’t love SK but on this show where everyone is a hot mess, not being one sets you up to be an audience favorite
