Pride has the 2 seed no matter what. Loser of Coppermine and Heros has either the 3 or 4 seed based on the 3 way ties with Pride and goals against. Crush if they can hold NEMS scoreless could jump ahead of Coppermine or Heros for better GA. M&D would have to play either Coppermine, Heros or Crush first round. Tough first round.

This poster just made my long post points much more succinctly. Are you sure that's how the tiebreaker works?

But it's Star's at 6-2, not M&D that will be in the #5 slot.

I think people are incorrectly assuming head-to-head gets thrown out in a three-way tie, but that is not what the words say. There has to be a three-way tie in head-to-head (e.g., three teams are tied and head to head is the first tie breaker and all three teams have a 1-1 record against each other, so the head to head doesn't break any ties).

Hopefully you realize your reading comprehension needs a little work and you were in fact incorrect.

Breakdown of the playoff teams records vs. other playoff teams

Coppermine: 4 - 0
Pride: 0 - 1
Crush: 2 - 2
Heros: 4 - 1
Stars: 0 - 2
M&D: 2 - 3
Skywalkers: 1 - 3
FCA: 0 - 3

Maybe NGLL should look at their scheduling...

Funny how that guy told the rest of us we were wrong. Typical DA

So which team should be in the playoff that is not due to scheduling? Pride and Stars both beat MDU East so you can’t say they belong in it.

The seeding formula is definitely off. The Championship game will now be played in the second round on Saturday.

Exactly. CCLAX lost to M&D Red who lost to FCA so I guess they are undeserving also…so maybe just win the games you need to win and you are in the playoffs.

Heroes and Coppermine definitely the favorites but don’t count out M&D Black, Crush or Pride.

Hopefully they will at least have t-shirts for the fake championship runner up.

Anyone can win between those teams, I agree, just a shame that the tie breakers yielded a result that put Hero’s in at the 4th seed which is ridiculous. Also adds more strength to the argument to get rid of the truly weak teams and to go back to having divisions.

But then one of the divisions would be weaker than the other so that’s not fair either….does it really matter in the end? There can be only One champion at the end of the day

Hero’s and Coppermine are hands down the best 2 teams. It is a shame that they have to knock each other out in the semis. Pride played 1 team in the top 8. They should not have the 2nd seat.

You’ll never have true parity, but I think most reasonable people would agree that Hero’s is the obvious second seed. They played a very tough schedule and lost by the thinest of margins to Coppermine and beat Pride who has the same record, far easier schedule and lost to Hero’s.

There are rules and a tie breaking process to be followed. A reasonable person knowledgeable of the rules and processes could not possibly agree that Hero’s is the obvious second seed. I would agree Hero’s is the second best team, but unfortunately that is not how the tournament seedings are determined.

My biggest issue is with the difference in schedules that Pride and Hero’s play. Hero’s played just about the toughest schedule you could play; Pride did not really play anyone except Hero’s whom they lost to. Get rid of the truly weak teams and Pride would not have all the W’s they have. Agree, that Hero’s is the stronger team.

Fair post. Just too bad the two best teams will play in the second round. Winner of that game wins it all.
