There are so many shootings, I'm losing track

I was just reading about the Sikh Temple and I had to strain my memory to remember what the last shooting was--oh yeah, a guy in...Colorado. Where did he shoot people?...oh yeah, in a movie theater. How many?...dozens I think.
They're all starting to blend into another like some back page story about a traffic pile-up. I'm getting totally inured to them, like it's no big deal. Just the shooting of the week.
