There is no way VLC is going to put together a good team at the 28 class. They burned too many families. I think true will be the ultimate winner from all of the turmoil at ML and DCE

VLC is considerably yuckier than its competitors. It’s a dumpster fire on a sinking ship.

Total dumpster fire and yet they think they belong in elite. Getting crushed week in and week out.

True lacrosse will end up taking over this summer as the best option in NOVA

True has shown ZERO ability to get boys committed into anything but lousy D3 programs. Serious lacrosse kids won't go there.

Is there any True 2028 team in Virginia or any plans to have one? I have not heard anything about that. anybody know where they will practice, who the coaches are, where the players are coming from, etc.?

Do you mean VLC. True NOVA has 2 2028 teams playing in HOCO right now.

Means it's full of mid players and mid students yet some people think it's the "best option" for NOVA. Trying to insult people of NOVA?

Right now true beats most of VLC’s middle school and elementary school teams. (True has teams at every grade - something VLC can’t say). Whether this continues into HS is the big question. ML looks shaky with multiple team implosions over the last couple years. So I think that there is a chance a team (true/VLC) moves into the third spot. DCEs 27 & 28s have serious problems and a lot of talented kids will need somewhere to go. VLC’s got a chance.

What serious problems does DCE 28 have?

DCE 28 at both A and B are seriously oversubscribed. Withe 27& 25 kids respectively. Look for a lot of departchers in the fall as good players look for playing time

You could say those teams aren't that good either. Both are 1-4 in their respective HOCO divisions.with the A team getting somewhat thumped in thier losses.

Yes, DCE is struggling, because they are still gelling from what was essentially a merger with Madlax, plus they are weak at a couple of key positions, but the 1-4 record does not mean they are a bad team. they have plenty of talented players. the bigger story in the 2028 world is that MadLax is a dumpster fire. there are only two elite teams in the 2028 class right now, NL and DCE, and both of their A team rosters are too big, plus there are good players on the B teams who will never get a fair shot at the A team, and they know it. This presents an AMAZING opportunity for VLC. If they were smart they would announce a good coach and start recruiting. They would get plenty of refugees from NL, ML, and DCE.

So that is a lot of words to say a team stinks right now. And saying that how can DCE be weak at a couple of key positions but then be the "Class" right now - I am assuming you mean in the DMV area because other club teams in HOCO don't seem to be having issues.

I agree with the previous poster is that there is a lot of lax talent sloshing around the DMV in search of good coaching. I’ve seen a lot of 28 hoco games this spring and it’s incredible that NL, ML and DCE with so much talent look terrible. Crabs and hawks dismembered those teams. At this point it has to be the coaching because a lot of those kids were recruited to top private schools. There is definitely an opportunity for some program to scoop up these kids.

The Crabs and Hawks players on the 28 teams are doing their 2nd year of 8th grade so they are prepped for private school lacrosse. To play in the elite division in HOCO generally they ask how many reclass kids does a team have.

Like it or not, this is spot on. The DMV have reclassed players too, but much smaller numbers. Crabs, Hawks, and FCA are basically 9th grade teams, so the HOCo scores reflect that.
