How many LC Meets for your team/practice group + when does your pool switch practice to LC?

Some parents are wise enough to not enroll their kids in dance. And track meets are the only thing worse than swim meets- don’t even get me started.

Just because your club has been to 3 meets already doesn’t mean that has to have dominated your weekends. That makes it really nice- go to one session per meet or maybe 2 sessions total. You have plenty of swim opportunity and opportunity to do anything else you desire, as long as you plan ahead.

No LC practice until school is out. 12U Kids who make PV LC age group champs will go to them, and kids who make Zones can go (but most don’t because we just want a break after so much summer league swimming).

It’s nuts how different the sites are. NCAP Tyson’s (is it “Nova” now?) 12Us are at their fourth LC meet (this one is in Richmond!), with three weekends in a row.

Yes, NCAP Tysons and Marymount are now NCAP Nova. But Burke, Alexandria, Claude Moore, and any of the 5 Loudoun County sites are not Nova. They are just NCAP affiliates in Northern Virginia, not Nova.

And don’t confuse them with Nova of Virginia, and Nova of California (Irvine Novaquatics) because what’s another Nova?

It’s quite simple, makes perfect sense, and a master class in branding.

+1, Burke is its own franchise so if you have an issue with the small number of LC meets their 12 and unders are able to swim it that is something to take up with the head person at Burke.

Burke is definitely the outlier with the number of meets available for the 12Us. It looks like most sites offer at least 4 meets before champs. The Maryland NoVA, and Loudoun sites probably have the most. NCAP West does some meets that others don’t because of where they are located, in addition to May Magic last weekend their 12Us have a meet in Stafford, an outdoor meet in Winchester, and then one of the LC Opens.

Burke is the original site and the head coach (Pete Morgan) is at Burke. I wonder if they kept Burke a franchise because of potential liability when they created NCAP from Curl-Burke (as a means of protecting NCAP the entity from any vicarious liability, maybe?), or if it involves coaching contracts and insurance.
