What size shoes does your 9 year old wear?

My 9 year old is a boy, but wears a size 6 kid’s shoe, which I guess would be like a 7.5-8 in women’s. He is 4’9 and 73 pounds. He has always had big feet.

Op - when DD was born I actually commented on how big her feet looked compared to her size. I guess she always had flipper feet.

For a 9 year old I just can’t believe how expensive sneakers are when they have this big of feet! Little kid shoes are cheap compared to women’s sized shoes!

My 12 yo wears a kids size 2, and as a 5'8" adult I only wear a size 7. Those are some big feet.

It's beyond irritating that they have a different size scale for women's sizing. Kids sizing just blends into the men's sizing chart. But for women/girls? Here's an annoying conversion!

Women's shoes are generally more expensive so hold onto the kids sizes while you can.

When my daughter was 9, she also wore size 9! Good news, she’s almost 20 now, 5’8”, and her daily wear and dress shoes are 9.5!

I am also 5’8”, but have 11s!

Wow, my 12 year old only wears a 6.5 women's. My 9 year old wears a size 3.5 Youth.

I am a size 9 women's and only 5'3 so there isn't necessarily a correlation. My 9 YO has a size 5 foot.

My 9 year old has size 3 feet. He has a friend who is two weeks older than him who has size 6.5...so lots of normal, I think

Size 13, but she's tiny.

My 9 year old is also in 13s. But she's barely 49" and 50 lbs. I'm a totally average size 7.5.

When my DD was 9 she was also a size 8. Then a size 10 at 10, and now at 12 she is a size 11. It’s crazy. She’s currently 5’8”, but I think she’s about to have another growth spurt. I think she is following in my aunt’s footsteps (no pun intended). She wears an 11 shoe and is about 5’11”

Similar to PP - My 3 kids all have big feet and their feet grew way ahead of their growth spurts, as they are all late bloomers. (Just turned 11 DD wears women’s 10.5/11 at 5’2” with no signs of puberty yet.). Some kids/adults just have big feet. We are tall parents but not exceptionally tall - and assume kids will be similar. And rest assured, finding size 10/11/12 shoes for women is not that hard.

+1. Size 11 is very easy to find and there are a decent amount of lines that carry 12. What *is* annoying is a lot of brands stop half sizes after size 10. It’s annoying if you are a 10.5!

Anyway, I had very large feet at a young age but my growth spurt was late. I was 5’4 in 9th grade and continued to grow about an inch per year through sophomore year of college. Most of my female friends stopped growing before I did.

For those of you with larger feet (size 9 or up) how tall are you as an adult?

I was at least a 9 at 9. I'm now 5'11" and about an 11.5 (so usually wear a 12). Despite my feet growing early, I was a late bloomer and went from somewhere around 5'4" to 5'8" in 8th grade and kept growing through 10th.

Finding shoes is a lot easier now than in the pre-internet days. I can't really shop in stores, but otherwise, it's not that bad.
