They broke into a government building and tried to interfere with the peaceful transfer of presidential power. If people with brown skin had done it they’d be charged with domestic terrorism.

Americans could start with more targeted civil disobedience. For example, New Yorkers are out in force protesting ICE, anyway. If they wanted to they really could shut down New York for a day or two, disrupt the financial district. Maybe close the exchanges.

Agreed that targeted, swift, and achievable boycotts are needed. Forget Amazon, too big, we’ll never make a dent. But look at what happened to Disney.

FOX News got busted by ProPublica for faking coverage protests at ICE facilities, faking coverage of Portland "riots" and other things by showing years-old and unrelated footage, passing it off as current events...

And here I've been wondering why Republicans keep yammering idiotically about rioting and calling blue cities "hell holes" and calling for the National Guard.

Fabricated crises. And Trump's been wasting hundreds of millions of dollars deploying National Guard to places where there's not much even going on.

One wonders how it all works - if the White House is calling FOX up saying "help us sell this narrative" or if FOX News is trying to pander some red meat for its audience and Trump sees it on his TV and demands the Guard be sent out, or if they are just feeding off of each other.

Not just Fox. ICE itself faked unrest in Portland, with a videographer positioned to get footage. The told protesters to back up a few hundred yards, the protesters complied, then ICE started marching towards them throwing smoke/teargas (I don't know what all) for the videographers to film so it LOOKED like a riot.
