Current Janney parent here. I wouldn't move from Hearst, Hearst is great!

The only reason I might stay behind at Janney is if my kid was in 5th grade and was very attached to staying. (Even then it would be a tough call because 5th is the weakest year at Janney, so the non-academic considerations would have to weigh strongly. My DD loved Janney, her classmates, loved doing all the 5th grade “stuff”. )

I’m extremely confused by this whole scenario. I think…just move with your family? There are lots of good elementary schools.

That is insanity. It's a fine school and a great community if you live in the neighborhood. It has it's good and bad parts, good and bad teachers. It is not any better than thousands and thousands of other elementary schools. Frankly it's not better than Hearst.

Signed, parent of 3 Janney grads who spent a decade being very involved at the school.
