San Francisco airport

La Boulangerie is a great cafe with fantastic bread/sandwiches- that's the one I have personal experience with, had a friend who used to live nearby and went there a few times when visiting. But there are a couple of pizza places, a sushi place, multiple taco options, a burger place, Chinese, Greek, etc all within that strip of 3 blocks or so on 24th. Will surely find something there that everyone will like. If you sit outside and look west you will be looking right at the Twin Peaks.

The other area I would look at is the Richmond District, at all the places along Clement on either side of Highway 1. Similarly convenient spot between the airport and the GG Bridge, and again a cute neighborhood with plenty of good places to eat.

This. Clement St. specifically, Burma Superstar or Good Luck Dim Sum.

When you go to a foodie area, you budget for that. I say this as someone who earns five figures. I wouldn’t eat at Burger King.

(Smile). As I was saying, sometimes I realize we just are not as well off as most here. We simply can't afford some fancy restaurant, but I am sure the advice would be useful to most here.

Yup.

I wouldn't eat lunch in SF if your bags are in your car. Unless you park right next to the table you eat at.

Eat like the SF locals- go to Fisherman’s Wharf and eat at Bubba Gump’s.

In and Out Burger! There’s one by the airport.

Yes it's a very classic California thing. Make sure you order the fries "well done"- their fries are usually not cooked enough and come out a bit limp and not especially good. You can ask for them to be "well done" and they make a batch that cooks a bit longer, they are much more crispy that way.

There’s also one right off 101 in Marin at Strawberry near Mill Valley turn off. No bay view but you can see Mount Tam.

I’m the pp from Burlingame. There are so many places (including burger places) I’d rather go than In ‘N Out but if you did want to go there there’s one in Millbrae not far from the airport / right by 101.

In and Out is marketed as a California thing but it is disliked by many, many Californians. The burgers are pretty bad. The fries are worse. The only thing it has going for it is that it is cheap.

I've lived in California for 21 years. Think I've had In & Out once? It might be the best of fast food burgers, but it's not good.

Here are some great burger places in SF: https://sf.eater.com/maps/best-burgers-san-francisco-1
