Just make it your SOP to deactivate the stop-start feature every time you get in the vehicle. It’ll become habit after a couple weeks and you won’t have to worry about it anymore. |
I had this exact problem on my 2016 Pilot. |
Auto Stop in general is super annoying (mine isn’t a Subaru.) I wish car companies would stop doing this or at least install a setting to permanently disable the feature. |
This is OP. The new battery is working and I’m slowly calming down, lol.
I have a Forester because it was the smallest suv I could find with comfortable front passenger head and leg room for a 6-3 guy. If any knows an alternative, please tell! Unfortunately most of the cars with a lot of head and leg room in the front are gargantuan. And I like having an SUV or some sort of similar hatchback situation for practicality with family/hobby gear. There’s really nothing else I like about the car though, I have to say. Usually I barely notice my car, and this one constantly annoys me. I am thinking of installing one of those after market auto stop eliminators, has anyone done that? |
Good god OP. I hate that thing as much as anyone out there but how difficult is it just shut it when you start the engine? You have a lot of time. |
Did you try Ford bronco or Nissan rogue? They have plenty of room for tall drivers, just make sure you get one without a sunroof as it reduces headroom. But reliability wise Subaru has better reputation than Nissan or Ford. Unfortunately, auto stop is a standard feature on all new cars to improve gas mileage. |
Me too! I was so glad to turn that car in off the lease. |
Exact same problem with my 2021 Subaru only no one told me the battery was the problem. I ended up getting rid of it. Auto Stop is the worst fricking thing. If there’s one thing this administration might be good for is getting rid of that dumb feature or at least make it optional. |
