This. If you can pay cash for a Toyota around here without paying a dealer surcharge please post that video! Even if it’s not here. I’ll find it elsewhere. |
He got paid |
You can turn around and immediately pay off the loan. We did that and got a furious call from the Honda dealer claiming they lost money on the sale because of that. |
Before COVID, I was shopping for a Toyota. One dealer said they had a car in stock and gave me an out the door price via email and then when I got to the dealer to do paperwork they raised the price and explained it was because they actually had to get the car from another dealer and then had the audacity to say that if I’d just come in person and not tried to negotiate by email this could have been sorted out much easier. Another Toyota dealer “forgot to add” sales tax for their out the door price. And so many other similar problems. And the sales people are shameless. They’ll say anything to you to get you to the dealer and then dick around. Of course you leave right away, but that doesn’t get you any closer to getting a car. It’s sort of hilarious if it weren’t so infuriating. One good reason to just buy used. Dealers have to move the inventory they have on hand, there are games but they aren’t quite as bad. |
So you pay MSRP and think it was easy. You can do that at any dealer, but somehow "that’s different" |
