it'll be a huge hit for Halloween! ![]() But that is a good point. There is a very small play area w/ a jungle gym on the church's grounds, but it's right against the cemetery and there's no way to fit more than 12-15 kids at a time in that small gated area. Not sure if they could walk over to Lewinsville Park? |
I was surprised to see that it does has more green space than you would think. The existing playground will be made into a mud kitchen and there is a house to be replaced with a natural playground. |
Sooooo all this is happening in less than 6 months and there is no announcment about the new location on their website? |
|
I would like to know where the green space is because I'm not seeing it on Google street view:

Brooksfield sent this email to families:
"We are very happy to announce that we received our hearing date for our special use permit. The date of the hearing is July 9th. Please mark your calendars! We do not yet have the time of day, but we will keep you updated as we learn more. We feel very optimistic about the timing of the hearing. We have already been working with our appointed County representative on pre-staffing meetings. The first inspection went very well, and she was very enthusiastic about our new space. We will continue to have meetings with the County leading up to the hearing. We also have an important morning coming up this week. We are working with a traffic consultant and FCDOT on traffic analysis before the hearing. This Thursday 5/1, both the consultant and the FCDOT representative will be at our current site to watch how we run carpool. We are requesting that all families come on time and are efficient in the drop-off line that morning The consultant and FCDOT representative will then meet with us and the Lewinsville Presbyterian Church team at the new location to determine the best carpool plan for next year. We are very excited about all of these proactive and positive steps forward and are thankful for all of your support." |
We did not get accepted when DD applied, but we did tour a lot of preschool/K programs and thought Brooksfield was very good. This move might be very helpful for the school, as the classroom buildings in their current Episcopal church pretty seemed awkward.
That church parking lot is not very busy on Sundays, so my guess is that the Episcopal church will sell the property to a developer. There are 2 other Episcopal churches nearby - St Peter in N Arlington on Glebe Rd and another on Georgetown Pike nearer Langley HS. |
It might be ok compared to a daycare but as a school Brooksfield is not well run. It’s basically run by low level school administrators without a head of school. The school is not well resourced and is constantly harassing parents for money and time. |
Do you really know about Brooksfield or or just posting to stir up trouble??? Your words are harsh and I've noticed posts with similar wording that throw out very harsh/vague accusations with nothing to back it up. |
We are current Brooksfield parents. It is true that they are always sending emails out to get
help from everything ranging from cutting up fruit to packing the school up (!) to putting together file cabinets (!!) to asking people to show up to dozens of town meetings. It’s a lot. |
