You do at hotels. |
Target sells pillows for $3. Why go through the hassle and waste of washing and drying pillows, just for them to end up flat and lumpy anyway, when you can just toss them and easily purchase fresh new ones? |
Yep, and also when you sleep at your grandmothers house. Grandparents NEVER replace pillows. |
Because I'm not a wasteful glassbowl? |
Put in large garbage bag and throw away
I just did this with 4 pillows. |
Are you referring to regular (bed) pillows? I usually just toss them though if they are in decent condition then you can always wash them, then donate them to your local animal shelter. I should do this myself but am admittedly too lazy to do so. 🙁 If you mean throw pillows I live in a large apartment complex where I just leave them close to the community dumpster and one of my neighbors usually take them. I think. 🫤 |
Okay Granny. |
Yes. Wash the pillows you use. Otherwise dispose of them in the trash. |
+1 I can't believe how many people just throw them in the trash. Why not recycle them? |

Agreed. Wash and offer on your neighborhood Buy Nothing/Freecycle list. One use I know of is to stuff Molly Mutt pet covers with them. That's a company that sells quality pet bed covers and then you stuff it at home. Synthetic filling pillows can be dumped into textile recycling bins (usually associated with schools in my area) and down ones can be used forever. Old down bed pillows make great sofa pillows stuffed into small cushion covers. I don't throw much away and for the sake of our children you shouldn't either. |
Can you come to my house? I don't have much stuff but can't make small decisions at all. I think you would be a good life coach lol. ![]() |
Animal rescues and shelters like to get bedding and pillows. |
I laugh that people constantly decide that clothing and shoe recycling really means clothing, shoes and whatever else I think they will take. There is a futon mattress piled on the last one I saw. |
This is confusing bc another poster said they don’t take used pillows. Which is it? What would an animal shelter do with an old pillow? |
