For bread dipping, the special Sicilian oil at Trader Joe’s. Very light and grassy and stands out by itself on bread or as a light salad topper

For cooking- Terra Delyssa or Wegmans Spanish Extra Virgin Olive oil or, sometimes, the lemon and herb olive oil from Whole Foods, or Garcia de la Cruz Spanish olive oil

I LOVE olive oil, I always have 4-5 bottles

If you don’t have freshly-pressed, organic olive oil, hand harvested from a generations-old olive grove outside your veranda, store-bought will do just fine!

I only buy oil that has the year of harvest included in the label. New harvest oil usually appears on shelves after new years. And single-source is better, whether it is Greek, Spanish, Italian or American.

So do you think newer is always better or are you looking for particular timing?

Dp. Not just newer, but the latest harvest. Now the latest harvest is from 2022. Starting from November / December / January the oil harvested in 2023 should start being sold.
