Spring break maybe? It's kind of odd they picked Mallorca. It's like the Cancun of Europe. Pretty but trashy.

This really isn't true at all.

She got her comeuppance? How? No one cares. All of this will blow away. She is not making her money by being Spanish. She is making her money by doing yoga poses in lingerie and looking great 3 months after having her 5th kid. So that shtick will continue to make her money. And no Spanish women were being harmed by her or cared about her identifying as being Spanish etc.

I've been trying to figure out why this story is so fun and delicious and I think I've got it...

We see women like Hilaria and we know they're full of shit. We know it's not as easy, glamorous, or perfect as they show us on social media. We know they have more than one nanny, we know they don't actually cook, we know their IG is a fantasy world where they show off and fake shit constantly. But we have no proof. We feel petty, bitter, and small questioning the fake lives people like her present.

But now we have 100% verified proof that she's a fraud. Sure it's not a big deal, she didn't claim to be a Native American to get ino Harvard or to be Black and get special treatment. She didn't lie about her background to get a job at GW and get speaking gigs. But she did lie, she's BUSTED and it's GLORIOUS. We'll never bust her for all the other shit, but every mom who felt bad about themselves for hating on her (and people like her) fake IG life can now get some small vindication.

Tell that to the spox for their tourism ministry:

In Palma, Ms Wilms told the BBC, "local people have been complaining for years that something has to be done".

"The problem is drunken tourists gathering and fighting in the street - locals wake up and see vomit, litter, broken glass."

Waaaaaiiit. She doubled down in the second video and is sticking by that she came to the US at 19 to go to college?! How does she not get the gig is up. Her first video was bland enough to continue her subterfuge. But this continued lie is a whopper.

“First thing I told my husband is that I was born in Boston,” she said. “I spent a lot of my childhood in Spain. My nuclear family lives in Spain and has lived there for a long time. And I came here — I was moving around a lot, but I came here when I was 19 years old to go to college.”

I thought she started at BU and transferred to NYU? Did she study abroad in Spain at BU? Or is this careful wording? “I came here...” meaning “I came to NY”?! Kind of like her careful wording of “My family lives in Spain”.

It's word splicing. "I came here"-- here means New York. But it's intentionally misleading. Her version of lying is to mislead, so she can insist she told the truth. Because authenticity is so important to her and it's a way to preserve her self image while scamming everyone. It's their fault they "misinterpreted."

SPOT ON. It’s a sign that this isn’t mental illness -it’s a completely intentional fraud. There is a moment shown in an interview with two women and mimosas when she says “I came here at 19” and the hosts said “from where?” And she she says “my family is in Mallorca, and nervously giggles - so obvious that she had a pit in her stomach at that moment. She is smart!

I’m here for this thread because I’m a celebrity nanny and see this every day. Last week I was baking cookies with the kids and the mom came in the kitchen (usually she hides in her room) and made the kids pose and take pictures, posted it, and then went back to her room. Mother of the year!! I’ve been working for these fakes for years and I love seeing one exposed ESPECIALLY because she goes out of her way to pretend like she’s this hero SAHM when she has a team of nannies. I’m not judging having a nanny, but don’t create a life of lies pretending you’re super mom doing it by yourself.

Who the hell mentioned Alec’s video on Insta?

I am going to hunt you and take your first born. I will never get that time back from watching his old man rambles.

Yeah, that Rafay-LAYLE was odd.

She says "Rafa y Leo." She has a son named Rafael, nicknamed Rafa, and a son named Leonardo, nicknamed Leo.

Her Spanish is very good. She's clearly not a native speaker though, you can see the the cogs turning in her head as she speaks, it's good but not a natural flow.

I like how he's like, "Consider the source." Um...the source is your wife who can't keep her lies straight.

My French is really good. I’ve lived abroad and I’m really good at accents. I’ve been speaking French my whole life, but I still don’t pass completely for a francophone. People usually think I’m European and that I don’t have an American accent. Clearly she worked hard on her accent but that doesn’t mean she can actually speak Spanish. I’d love to hear her in an actual conversation with conjugations/present/past tense etc

I adore the lack of awareness that he's doing exactly what Trump says to his dumb base.

Yeah, this was pointed out to me later by someone else off dcum. Don’t you think she says nada strangely though? Nadá. I agree you can see her thinking and processing as she speaks. Which isn’t bad, I do it too, just looking at it because of this whole situation.
