Moratorium on B------r Posts: Yea or Nay

Freedom of speech is great, but perhaps it's time for a voluntary moratorium on posts and views about a certain school that starts with B and ends with R. I purposely did not spell out the school name so that it would not show up on archive searches. (I hope. JSteele, feel free to delete this if this inadvertently adds to the traffic about this school.)

Personally I feel horrible about my own voyeuristic reading of the other threads in light of the tragedy. I hope that by simply not visiting or searching for any of the threads that specifically mention the problems at this school I'll not add to the "hot" topic numbers. Not that this makes up for my previous views, but it seems like the least one can do.

There are plenty of other channels for those not directly impacted to follow the gory details and cast stones at the school administration. It would be reassuring to know that the parents on DCUM can sympathize with the families directly impacted by this by not adding to the hype.

Just my two (guilty) cents.

Thoughts go out to those who dealing with this.

I second your thought and would add that my beginning of the new school year resolution is to spend way less time at this web site, period. Of course, you can see how successful I've been so far!!
