School is back in session.

There will be blood on the platforms after roving mobs of teens descend on innocent metro commuters.

Just wait.

Well, if the blood isn't drawn by the roving mobs, then it's from the angry passengers who get on the tracks after their train is stalled for an hour

I hate that my daughter still lives in DC. She is an ESE teacher and loves her school and her kids. She teaches in a school that is rated among the lowest and she feels strongly that she can make a difference. Unfortunately, she'll learn that she can't. I just hope she doesn't get hurt in the meantime. I'm proud of her, but there are high needs schools in safer parts of the country.

Paying a $2500/month to live in a 100-year-old shithole with rats in the walls and surrounded by feral animals that will blow your head off for a nickel if they think they can get away with it.

You gotta hand it to all the filthy rich urban developers that live in McLean, Potomac, Bethesda, etc. What a con job.

I live in Va, but I am pretty sure you can get better than that for $2500.

She almost certainly can make a difference, at least for a few kids. And she will probably be fine.

Every time these stories come up I thank my lucky stars I live in boring Virginia.

I live in Va, but work in DC, and often go in for weekend activities. Its really not that bad.

As a parent, "probably" doesn't sound very reassuring.

Then you shouldn't have become a parent. There are all kinds of dangers, everywhere. There are no guarantees, anywhere. Just somewhat different odds.
