You should move somewhere that doesn't get snow.

No thanks. But YOU should.

Huh? Feb 17th isn't marked as a possible make-up day. It's March 20th and April 15th as possible make-up days.

Not should it be one.

MD sent out a notice that said districts could opt to use President's Day as a makeup day. It would make total sense for MCPS to pull back 2/16 and 2/17.

But 2/17 is not a makeup. So MD would allow 2/16 and then they would be off. Doesn’t make sense

MCPS could opt to make 2/17 a school day if they wanted to.

I don’t think they can if it’s not a designated makeup day.

Absolutely not. FCPS is open. There's no excuse for MCPS

This is MARYLAND. And who cares what Fairfax or other counties are doing!

Because FCPS is a very close neighbor which is actually bigger than MCPS. If they can open, so can we.

Do they budget for same number of snow plows? Have same types of streets and is the county laid out in the same way. Right...

+1 FCPS is open tomorrow with a 2 hour delay. MCPS will truly be a special snowflake if it closes again.

Celebrate the lunar new year when you get up and get home! If that's what's stopping them from making it as a make up date. Geez. Why all these holidays. Public school system!

So we can only be compared to districts that are absolutely identical to MCPS? how convenient that this would exclude MCPS from ever having its performance compared to anyone.

You missed the part where they are bigger. More spread out than MCPS. More back roads. More neighborhoods. And yet, they are opening....

Don't blame the Asians. Teachers require those non-instructional days in the calendar. If it wasn't Lunar New Year, it would be some random other day.

Also does the name of the county start with M and end in Y?

They got last Monday to enter grades. Today to work from home.

Okay MCPS, you need to post already. I need to go get a snack and do other things than reload this stupid page.

We could blame the Jews for making us take their holidays off earlier in the year and making the schedule to provide 180 days more limited.

How about we all agree that we need to stop catering to every group... including Christians too.

It’s probably easier to plow then.
