Again, a nice dress from a woman’s perspective, but no man will look at a woman in this and think twice about her.

See, to me these are the goals.
-modest but not prim
-flattering but not revealing (she wants to look great but like she has the new guy in the bag, not trying to hard/ desperate)
-comfortable!!!!! The absolute best thing that can happen is that she actually has a good time and radiates positive energy. That will rivet the ex more than any dress.

Nice dress if you’re looking to get laid after your date. The bride may not be as appreciative.

DP. What? This is a classic black dress. And I checked out the website - they have a lot of really pretty dresses.

I actually like this one a lot - but not everyone can pull off the evil Cinderella look

I like the dress too but it reads to me as prom or as a young 20s dress. Not a sophisticated sexy look.

I just wore the same dress in copper color and it’s absolutely stunning

I like that a lot. In a different color like emerald or red or the copper it would be a show stopper while still being classy.

lol. Yes, this list is exactly what will make your ex look twice. Modest, not revealing and comfortable. Good luck with men, PP.

Lovely and elegant. Sexy in a “french woman” way.

What is your body shape? NP here and I’d love to grab this as a classic piece for my closet, but am worried it won’t flatter my apple shape (I’m 5’4”, 130 lbs).

The battle is between catching men's eyes and the women thinking you look tacky, or catching women's eyes and the men not even seeing you.
I was talking with a friend about how envious I am of a stylish acquaintance and my husband was like "that lady in the baggy pants? You always look hotter than her"

There are definitely dresses that do both. I posted that I liked the black lace with a low back above — classy but men think lace is sexy and a low back is hot. That dress also showed leg — add sheer black hose and a heel and men really like that. I also liked the satiny one shoulder number — very slinky and men do like that exposure shoulder look, although I think in a more eye catching color it would catch their eye more. Men do really like a bright color — whenever I wear red or a bright jewel tone, men always seem to notice.
I agree with PP that the dotted loose dress above is very fashionable but not the kind of thing that would catch the eye of most straight men. But I think you can find dresses that will catch their eye without looking liek a try-hard Lauren Sanchez.

This is out of price range and very black tie but if she has a nice rack this could look great:

See, I have had good luck, and that’s why I am offering a different perspective on this. This is not the same as trying to catch a new dude. Then, clingy and plunge-y it is. This ex has already seen…everything. We know he was attracted enough to engage but not engaged enough to stay. this is likely not a physical issue. It’s vibes. It’s also about keeping her dignity.

Why is a women showing cleavage not keeping her dignity? Come on. It is an evening wedding in a swanky city setting. She does not need to dress like a nun.

I am in my 50s and colorway is dumb term and also not really apt for this use. Color is the correct word here.

There’s a lot of room in between. There’s an old rule that you can show boobs or butt but generally not both. I think that rule works pretty well. Since OP is curve, a plunging neckline with an otherwise tasteful dress could look great on her and catch the men’s eyes without making her look like an escort.
